Veteran point guard Isaiah Thomas is proving that he can still score at will. On Sunday, the former Boston Celtics star scored 81 points in a Crawsover Pro-Am game in Seattle.

Thomas had scored 40 points in the first half, which is something that he never did at the NBA level.

Whether he was launching threes or putting the ball on the floor, Thomas looked absolutely dominant throughout his 81-point performance. Obviously, the competition level isn’t exactly what it is at the professional level, but Thomas was splashing home shot after shot.

Thomas is currently an NBA free agent after he played three games with the New Orleans Pelicans on a 10-day contract last season. During that time, the veteran guard averaged 7.7 points and scored in double figures in two of those contests. In addition, Thomas honored the late-great Kobe Bryant by wearing No. 24 while he was with the Pelicans. Ironically enough, Thomas’ point total was also the career-high scoring output for Bryant.

Fans were certainly taking notice as was former NBA guard Jamal Crawford, who was impressed by Thomas’ performance. Last month, Crawford scored 51 points in the same Pro-Am tournament and tweeted that he believes that Thomas still could be extremely valuable to an NBA franchise.

Perhaps after Thomas showed what he can do on Sunday, he’ll receive some interest from NBA teams.
